The Charity
About the Non-Profit Organization - Hope For The Warriors™ www.hopeforthewarriors.org was established in 2006 by co-founders and friends, Robin Kelleher and Shannon Maxwell, Marine Corps wives who experienced the wounds of war first hand. Lieutenant Colonel Tim Maxwell was wounded in Iraq in October 2004 when a mortar exploded and left him with a severe penetrating brain injury. Lieutenant Colonel Patrick Kelleher lost Marines under his command on the battlefield. The mission of Hope for the Warriors™ is to enhance the quality of life for US Service Members and their families nationwide who have been adversely affected by injuries or death in the line of duty. Hope for the Warriors™ actively seeks to ensure that the sacrifices of wounded and fallen warriors are never forgotten nor their needs unmet, particularly with regard to the short and long-term care of the severely injured.
Our Fiscal Responsibility -So you know, watch dog organizations rate charities and award top honors to those that contribute at least 75 cents of every dollar to the cause they sponsor. In comparison, Hope For The Warriors™ spent only 8 cents of every dollar on G&A last fiscal year and has averaged better than 90 cents of every dollar toward programs, services and events since its inception!
About A Warrior’s Wish™ - Hope For The Warriors™ grants wishes to severely injured service members in an effort to restore hope in the eye of a hero. Beyond meeting immediate physical and emotional needs, A Warrior’s Wish™ fulfills a desire for quality of life beyond recovery and a quest for life gratifying endeavors. Whether realizing a dream to hunt, kayak, ride a bike again, or take a trip to reclaim themselves or experience something new, it is Hope For The Warriors™’ mission to see that Wounded Warriors and their families are actively engaged. To read about A Warrior’s Wish requests that will be granted specifically from this event go to Warrior Biographies.
