Houston is the fourth largest city in the US and is also one of the most patriotic, contributing thousands of its own young citizens into the armed forces every year. As a result, Houston also has a significant population of veterans that have returned from Afghanistan and Iraq with life-long injuries. For those who have had the good fortune to spend any time with our injured veterans over the past few years, we are always humbled by their sacrifice and inspired by the positive attitude each maintains under the circumstances. Beyond physical injuries, a common concern for all warriors after they suddenly have their lives turned inside out by their battlefield injuries is how to find purpose in their lives beyond the military. They were literally torn away from their comrades in the most traumatic fashion and found themselves in a strange new world of physical limitations. Finding purpose after this can pose a tremendous challenge for most.

ConocoPhillips & Team Trident have partnered with Hope For The Warriors™ to host a Sporting Clay Benefit on May 22nd, 2010 (Memorial Day-friendly) to bring the oil & gas industry together with our local area wounded warriors. The event will help introduce our local heroes to this very patriotic industry and, in a fun and competitive environment, allow all of us to raise funds that will be used to help them achieve life aspirations after honorable service to our country.
